Ms. Sankarlal holds B.A. in Psychology, is a Certified Family Mediator and a student mediator with the Ontario Association of Family Mediators. She helps families experiencing separation and divorce or familial conflict find common ground to move forward and away from the conflict. An empathetic listener, who understands the complexities of separation and divorce, she assists parties honestly share their concerns and to work through their own issues so that they can then focus on doing what is truly in the best interests of their children. She also helps teens and parents to hear each others perspectives to find common ground. She works with other professionals such as art therapists, counsellors, and financial mediators to assist parties to feel ready to face their new lives on solid ground. A full domestic violence screening occurs before mediation begins and is mandatory for working with her. Restorative Justice practices will shortly be added to the services.
