Shanil is a graduate of Queen's University Faculty of Law. Prior to going to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts with a major in philosophy at McGill University. He began his legal career working in a top 10 civil litigation boutique. He has also worked for a major insurance company in Canada as a litigation lawyer.
Shanil will consider cases in the areas of wills and estates, estate litigation, guardianship disputes, criminal law, and advocacy before different tribunals, including the Consent and Capacity Board, Ontario Review Board.
Shanil is committed to making access to justice part of his practice. He regularly volunteers at the Pro Bono Ontario hotline, where he advises on Wills and Estates and civil litigation matters.
Shanil is a member of the Advocates' Society and the Ontario Bar Association.
