Nothing is more important than justice

JusticeNet is a not-for-profit service helping people in need of legal expertise, whose income is too high to access legal aid and too low to afford standard legal fees.

Paralegals are legal professionals who are licensed to perform certain legal services and appear certain lower level courts and administrative tribunals. In Ontario, paralegals, like lawyers, are licensed and regulated by the Law Society of Upper Canada. Paralegal fees are less that those of lawyers, and, under the JusticeNet program, are further reduced to $40 - 80 per hour for qualified persons. For more information on legal services covered by paralegals, please see Paralegal issues.

“Our justice system will be further strengthened with the introduction of the JusticeNet program, as it will serve to complement existing access to justice programs intended for people who do not qualify for legal aid.”

The Hon. Rob Nicholson, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada
